Last year 100+ organizations sent a letter to Canadian government with a call for economic sanctions until at least the blockade is removed for the Palestinians in Gaza.
Al-Haq’s Gaza 20/20 campaign is internationally focused on bringing consciousness to the grave situation for Palestinians in Gaza and specifically urges governments to call the Israeli government to account. In Canada, Just Peace Advocates partnered with Al-Haq to bring this message to the Canadian government to pursue accountability through both international and domestic law.
This campaign was inspired after the 2017 UN warned that Gaza is expected to be uninhabitable by 2020. In this deeply worrying report, the UN Coordinator for Humanitarian Aid and Development Activities noted that Gaza’s trajectory of “de-development” has accelerated. For the nearly 2 million Palestinians in Gaza, Israel’s persecution and collective punishment had already made life there unbearable.
The call goes out again this year, with organizations signing on. Please add your organizations signatures HERE

It is now more than four months since Taybeh wine and beer arrived in Canada. But still we wait.
The purchase including labeling was approved by the LCBO in March 2019. The product was purchased by the LCBO under its World Destination program, as well the shipment that arrived in July 2019 included some pre-approved private sales. In early August Palestine Just Trade Inc. was told that the product was on hold as a result of the court decision regarding wine from Israeli settlements considered illegal under international law and under Canada’s own policy. While the Taybeh product has not been released, products from Israeli settlement continue to be sold by the LCBO and in other provinces. Despite efforts to date, the LCBO has not released the Taybeh product.
