Send a letter to Prime Minister Trudeau and federal liberal MPs.
As Canadians standing for inclusivity and against hatred and discrimination, we are deeply concerned that Trudeau and the Liberal Party of Canada decided not to participate in the Capital Pride Parade this week solely because the organisers voiced their opposition to the ongoing slaughter of Palestinians in Gaza by Israel and refused the pink wash attempts by Israel.
By standing with human rights and complying with the ICJ recent ruling, Ottawa’s Capital Pride should be commended not punished and smeared.
Trudeau and the liberals boycotting of such an important event for the 2SLGBTQIA+community in the National Capital casts dark shadow on claims of inclusivity, support of marginalized people and the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in general. It also brings to question whether our government really cares about International law and human rights specially when it comes to the Palestinian victims of genocide (as many human rights organizations and UN agencies see the ongoing onslaught in Gaza)
The vast majority of Canadians support peace in the Middle East and are appalled by the flagrant disregard of human rights by Israel as documented by the many observers on the ground there and aired live daily on our screens. Our elected government should reflect the will of the Canadians and not succumb to the whims of those who prefer to ignore the 40,000 dead Palestinians, most of them are women and children.

CONDAMNONS le boycott des LIBÉRAUX du défilé de la FIERTÉ à OTTAWA
Envoyez une lettre au premier ministre Trudeau et aux députés libéraux fédéraux.
En tant que Canadiens et Canadiennes qui prônent l’inclusion, et qui luttent contre la haine et la discrimination, nous sommes profondément préoccupés par le fait que vous et le Parti libéral du Canada ayez décidé de ne pas participer au défilé de la Fierté dans la capitale cette semaine uniquement parce que les organisateurs ont exprimé leur opposition au massacre continu des Palestiniens à Gaza par Israël, et ont refusé les tentatives de blanchiment rose d’Israël.
En défendant les droits de la personne et en se conformant à la récente décision de la CIJ, la Fierté dans la capitale d’Ottawa devrait être félicitée et non punie et diffamée.
Votre boycott d’un événement aussi important pour la communauté 2SLGBTQIA+ dans la capitale nationale jette une ombre sur vos revendications d’inclusion, de soutien aux personnes marginalisées et à la communauté 2SLGBTQIA+ en général. Cela nous amène également à nous demander si notre gouvernement se soucie vraiment du droit international et des droits de la personne, en particulier lorsqu’il s’agit des victimes palestiniennes du génocide (comme le constatent de nombreuses organisations de défense des droits de la personne et des agences de l’ONU lors de l’assaut en cours à Gaza).
La grande majorité des Canadiens soutiennent la paix au Moyen-Orient et sont consternés par le mépris flagrant des droits de la personne par Israël, tel que documenté par de nombreux observateurs sur place et diffusé en direct quotidiennement sur nos écrans. Notre gouvernement élu devrait refléter la volonté des Canadiens et des Canadiennes, et ne pas succomber aux caprices de ceux qui préfèrent ignorer les 40 000 Palestiniens morts, dont la plupart sont des femmes et des enfants.
