Ontario Attorney General Deputy confirms Order-in-Council relates to IHRA matters within the discretion of a Ministry of the Crown

The October 26 implementation by the Ontario government of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition through an Order-in-Council has led questions about what this actually means.

On Friday, November 13, Deputy Attorney General David Corbett answered questions from Just Peace Advocates on the scope of the Order-in-Council. Read the response following:

Just Peace Advocates’ Director Karen Rodman published an article earlier in the day looking at the Justice Policy Standing Committee meetings held on October 22 and 27, which ended in the hearings for Bill 168 being cancelled. At the time of publication the transcipts from these meetings were not posted despite being available for several weeks, however, they were published on the government website late on November 13.
