During 2022, working with dozens of organizations across Canada, Just Peace Advocates put out close to a press release a week, on topics that do not make the mainstream media, but on occassion the mainstream media do pick up on!
The list of media contacts is Canada-based but includes media from around the world. There are currently about 2500 media contacts on our list.
Some of the releases are for campaigns and news related directly to Just Peace Advocates’ work, or work we are doing in partnership with other organizations. But often the releases are from other organizations who are working on specific campaigns we support.
Releases in some cases were provided in french and arabic.
Releases on some topics resulted in some mainstream coverage in Canada and internationally. In other cases, alternate media including internationally have referenced the releases. We have found the French media is more likely than the English media to pick up coverage. In some cases, later media coverage has drawn from releases we have provided.
